Stone Cellars wine was introduced in Napa, California in 1982 by European Beverages Company, although the company claims a heritage going back to 1893. In 1996, the brand was sold to Patricia Didelow, who later sold it to Beringer Wine Estates in 2000, which at the time was owned by Foster’s Group. Foster’s Group split off its wine division in 2011 to become Treasury Wine Estates. In 2016, Treasury sold the brand to Bronco Wine Company.
