Napa Ridge wine was introduced by Nestlé in St. Helena, California in 1985. In 1996, the brand was purchased from Nestlé by Texas Pacific Group, a private equity fund that had recently purchased Continental Airlines. They held it until 2000, when it was sold to Australian conglomerate Foster’s Group, which promptly offloaded the brand to Bronco Wine Company.
