Charles Shaw Winery was founded in Napa, California in 1974 by Charles Shaw. In 1995, the winery went bankrupt, and the brand was purchased by Bronco Wine Company for $27,000. In 2002, Bronco revived the brand and began distributing the wine exclusively to Trader Joe’s, where it has become popular for its low price point under the nickname “Two Buck Chuck.”
