Ruffino Lumina wine was introduced in 1877 in Pontassieve, Italy by brothers Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino. It was purchased by the Folonari family in 1913. In 2004, Constellation Brands purchased a 40% stake in the brand for $80 million, which was raised to a 49.9% stake in 2010. The following year, they purchased the remaining 50.1% for $69 million.
