Kenwood Vineyards was founded in Kenwood, California in 1970 by John Sheela, and Mike and Marty Lee. In 1996, F. Korbel & Bros acquired a 50% stake in the business, which was followed by the other 50% in 1999. Later that year, they sold Kenwood to Banfi Vineyards, based out of New York. Banfi sold the brand to Pernod Ricard in 2014.
