Corbans Winery was founded in Henderson, New Zealand in 1902 by Assid Abraham Corban. In 2000, the company was purchased by Montana Wines, their largest competitor. Montana was then acquired by Allied Domecq the following year, which itself was bought by Pernod Ricard in 2005. In 2010, Pernod Ricard sold the Corbans brand to Lion, a beverage subsidiary of the Japanese conglomerate Kirin.
