Flagstone Wines was founded in Cape Town, South Africa in 1998 by Bruce Jack. In 2007, it was acquired by The Hardy Wine Company, which was a division of Constellation Brnads. They later sold an 80% stake in The Hardy Wine Company to CHAMP Private Equity, which renamed the business to Accolade Wines. In 2018, Accolade was sold to the American private equity company The Carlyle Group.
