Tatachilla Winery was founded in 1995 in Mclaren Vale, South Australia by Southern Vale Winery. In 2008, Tatachilla merged with St. Hallett Winery to form Banksia wine, and listed themselves on the Australian Stock Exchange. However, Lion Nathan quickly purchased the company that same year, and held both brands until 2016, when it was sold to Accolade Wine. At the time, Accolade was owned by CHAMP private equity, however two years later they sold Accolade to The Carlyle Group.
