Saltram Wines was founded in Barossa Valley, South Australia in 1862. The winery was family run until 1941, when it became a wholly owned subsidiary of H.M. Martin’s winery. In 1972, the brand was sold to the Dalgety Pastoral Company, which held it until 1979 when they sold Saltram to Seagram. The brand flagged under their leadership, and in 1994 Seagram sold it to Rothbury, which itself was purchased by Mildara Blass in 1996. The following year, Mildara Blass was purchased by Foster’s Group, which split off its wine division in 2011 to become Treasury Wine Estates.
