Goundrey Winery was founded in 1976 in Mount Barker, Western Australia by Michael Goundrey. In 2002, the brand was sold to Canadian group Vincor. Four years later, Constellation Brands purchased Vincor and all of its brands, reorganizing Goundrey under the Hardy Wine Company division. In 2010, they sold an 80% stake in Hardy to CHAMP Private Equity, which renamed the business to Accolade Wines. In 2018, Accolade was sold to the American private equity company The Carlyle Group.
