Croser Wine was introduced in Woodside, South Australia in 1985 by Petaluma Winery, which had been founded by Brian Croser. In 2001, beverage conglomerate Lion Nathan purchased Petaluma in what has been described as a hostile takeover. In 2016, Lion’s wine interests – including Petaluma and Croser – were purchased by Accolade Wines, at the time a subsidiary of CHAMP Private Equity. In 2018, CHAMP sold Accolade to The Carlyle Group.
