Blackstone Winery was founded in Graton, California in 1990 by brothers Derek and Courtney Benham. In 2001, they sold the brand for $140 million to Pacific Wine Partners, a joint venture of Constellation Brands and Australian company BRL Hardy. Two years, later, Constellation purchased the wine brands of BRL Hardy, effectively ending the joint venture. In 2019, Blackstone and 29 other brands were sold to Gallo in a deal valued at $1.7 billion.
