Berri Winery was founded in South Australia in 1922. In 1992 the company merged with Hardy’s Wine to become BRL Hardy Limited. In 2003, they merged with Constellation Brands Australia to become The Hardy Wine Company, which was a division of Constellation’s larger company. They later sold an 80% stake in the company to CHAMP Private Equity, which renamed the business to Accolade Wines. In 2018, Accolade was sold to the American private equity company The Carlyle Group.
