Bay of Fires wine was introduced by BRL Hardy Limited in Tasmania, Australia in 2001. In 2003, BRL Hardy merged with Constellation Brands Australia to become The Hardy Wine Company, which was a division of Constellation’s larger company. They later sold an 80% stake in the company to CHAMP Private Equity, which renamed the business to Accolade Wines. In 2018, Accolade was sold to the American private equity company The Carlyle Group.
